Mercadito is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Chicago. We come all the way from Germany to eat there The food is amazing, the restaurant looks great and the service is excellent. Special shout out to Jose, was a great host! We will be back for sure!
I can’t remember the name of the dish I got but it was an eggs Benedict type of meal! So good wish I could have it again. Also recommend the bottomless drinks for brunch! If you plan to get at least 2 drinks it truly pays for itself and I got 4 drinks. 90 minute limit on the unlimited for only 35!
During our weekend trip to Chicago, we unexpectedly discovered Mercadito, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. If you're there on a Saturday or Sunday, don’t miss the endless, amazing cocktails and brunch—they're absolutely fantastic. When you visit, please try to sit at the tables attended by Luis; he was incredibly attentive, quick, and friendly. Thanks to him, we left Chicago with wonderful memories from Mercadito. We truly appreciate the delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, and excellent service.
We ate here on a Thursday night with Jose and he was amazing and so was our dinner! We ordered shrimp tacos and brisket tacos and they were absolutely wonderful. Everything came out efficiently but he also gave us time between our appetizer and entree! Our water glasses were never empty, and he even brought us a glass of club soda when my mother stained her shirt! Awesome place and service overall, really wish we had something like this in Oklahoma! Much love
Dropped about 45 on the brisket tacos, guac trio, and a spicy margarita. Tacos were fire—smoky brisket with a kick from the habanero aioli. Guac trio was a fun mix, especially the sweet potato one. Margarita had that perfect balance of heat and citrus. The vibe? Super chill with a modern Latin twist. Service was on point. Definitely a River North gem for a night out.
THE FOOD best Mexican I’ve had in a while. Split different tacos with a group and they were all PERFECT. Luis was our server and he was great!! The restaurant is busy so it may be a second before you meet your waiter, but overall a great experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and funny. The restaurant is also stunning. Great seating, gorgeous decor.
The system (customer service) they run here for happy hour is immaculate! . They didn't skip a beat! The food was amazing! Drinks were good! The selection was plenty (even for us vegetarians!)! The ambiance was ambiancin' ! I definitely recommend this spot for happy hour!
The happy hour is a great deal, almost half off full price! The margaritas are generous on the tequila and I was impressed by the food for a place that has such an emphasis on ambience and aesthetics. The space is beautiful, but the food is also excellent! My friends and I tried the Al Pastor, shrimp, and chicken tacos along with the guacamole and each one was excited well. Service was fast, and attentive, our server Jose was excellent! I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu.
